Plaxico Burress indictment

I really want this guy to go to jail for - if nothing else - being an idiot. But I can't come to terms with the ridiculous "laws" he is accused of breaking. What happened in NYC wouldn't even be a crime in Texas (except for the possible fact that he was in a 51% establishment? who knows for sure - it was a dance club apparently?)

This is what irks me ...

Unfortunately for Burress, however, any justification and excuse for carrying the gun are irrelevant under New York law. If he possessed a loaded firearm outside of his home or place of business, he committed the crime. It is a bright line matter.

I agree this law is rediculous and should be stricken, however since he is stuck in the north, he will have to suffer the consequences. maybe jerry jones will take him in.

What I found most disturbing about Burress's stupidity in all of this was a mention way back when the incident occurred that stated that he had a concealed firearms permit from somewhere, just not New York. The moron should have known better!
