GA: Armed pro boxer killed in robbery

In Atlanta, Georgia, last night, former professional boxer Vernon Forrest was putting air into the tires of his Jaguar. A robber approached and took several items at gunpoint. Forrest, who was armed, then chased the man. The two exchanged gunfire. Forrest was fatally shot. The robber and an accomplice escaped.

No word on whether he had a concealed carry permit or was carrying under some other provision of Georgia law.

Sad story. You'd think a boxer, whose training is to keep his guard up.
would not turn his back on someone he just encountered after being robbed
at gunpoint.

It was great that he had "Warrior Spirit" to go after the robber, but he made a
fatal mistake by not walking backwards to his Jag.
