Pearland athletic director brings weapon into building...

*Allegedly* No one even saw him with a weapon, it is just an allegation. But there are some good comments worth reading. Are the majority of the commentators correct?

The head of athletic programs for the Pearland Independent School District has been suspended from his duties over allegations that he brought a weapon onto district property, officials confirmed late Tuesday.

Pearland ISD Athletic Director Mike Watson was relieved with pay late last week pending an internal investigation by the school district's attorneys, said school board President Glenn Garrison.

“There hasn't been any decision on his employment status,“ Garrison said.

Garrison didn't know exactly when the weapon was allegedly brought onto district property other than saying it was apparently sometime during the summer or at the end of the last school year.

“If there is any truth to it, it is a great tragedy,“ said Pearland board member Suzy Roberts.

Pearland police officials, who provide security for the school district, also have been notified about the incident, Garrison said.

Garrison said the weapon apparently was brought into their administration building rather and not a school campus.

The district's investigation will be to determine whether any of their internal policies were violated, Garrison said.

He said their legal counsel is expected to present the internal report about the weapon allegation during a Sept. 3 meeting to the school board.

"Allegedly"...hmmmmmm...

LarryBarry needs to understand that if the employee has a CCH, he needs to first know that in this state it is called a CHL, and that I would summize that those folks already know that bringing a gun into a building on school grounds is a no-no...Without any need to understand school or district policies...

As far as I am concerned, if it is locked up in a vehicle out in the parking lot that does not violate the law...

And most important...If you are a teacher, administrator, substitute, or other employee...Please keep the fact that you have a CHL or an interest in firearms in general to yourself...I know that sounds harsh, and I have a new appreciation for the job these folks do for the kiddos...But this is really a subject that should not be a topic of discussion with anyone of your co-workers at all...

There are too many people that are looking to get something on others in that industry...And the "Wife-Unit" and I are finding that out very quickly...
