it sure did .
back in April when i was watching it closely ,there would be days between completions .
mostly it was talk of how slow and drawn out the process was .

a whole lot of justified complaining .

but now , WOW .

every day folks are getting the PLASTIC .

Plastic came today, 124 days door to door with a re-do of fingerprints. Had a sudden urge to shop at Wal-Mart. Went with my wife, bought some tie-downs for the truck among other things. Didn't need ammo but they didn't have any of my calibers any way. Stopped by OfficeMax for some office supplies and a quick stop at The UPS Store. Finished the trip by stopping at the bank to conduct some business. When we got home, my wife said "You had it with you!" That's good since she is very good at noticing when my appearance isn't just right. All in all, a good trip! So long, Waiting Room! Here's wishing the rest of you waiting short waiting times...and the pace at DPS surely seems to be picking up!

Finally!!! Today I check the website and it is active and on its way. Took the class May 8th and overnighted on the 10th. Awesome!!!

Got mine on the 5th. Carried to one of my favorite burger places for dinner with my family and some friends (it's also near the hood).

I was unable to go home yesterday to check the mail to see if my license had arrived, so I hurried home this morning and went straight to the mailbox. As I opened the mailbox with great anticipation, I reached in and grabbed everything and started flipping through all the mail. Bill, bill, ads, bill, bill, bill, and then........nothing.

I went into the house dejected. Still waiting...

I checked my status online tonight and my status finally changed!!
Feels like Christmas is around the corner. I'll be racing home to check the mail 'till I get it.
Now I need to find and break in a holster. I guess I should have been working on that for the last couple of months.

03/--/2009 - Application packet received
05/12/2009 - First part of CHL Class
05/13/2009 - Second part of CHL Class
05/14/2009 - Mailed via USPS Priority Mail with tracking at 9:09am
05/16/2009 - Delivered to CHLS at 10:02am
06/03/2009 - Sent email to CHLS asking for status.
06/15/2009 - Email reply from CHLS - Application has not been entered...Going through pre-entry process...
08/19/2009 - Sent email to CHLS asking for status.
08/26/2009 - Called CHLS to check status - person said everything is back and OK - just waiting to get to next stage. Shouldn't be much longer.
09/01/2009 - Email reply from CHLS - 'The application is near completion. Thank you for your continued patience.'
09/07/2009 - Application Completed - license issued or certificate active (On-line)
xx/xx/xxxx - Received plastic
