The new SR-22 from Sturm, Ruger & Co.

Here you have a gun built like the AR-15, takes AR-15 accessories, has the AR-15 ergonomics and shoots the inexpensive and wildly available .22 Long Rifle Cartridge. And after our first visits to the shooting range with the Ruger SR-22, there are no doubts that we now have a great option to practice with an AR style rifle and not to forget the new rifle of choice for the Ruger Rimfire Challenge.

Looks like fun to me..

Neat looking, but MSRP is $625!

I have this Image, it comes with 2 stocks, one angled down and one straight. I know the SR22 will go for less than MSRP, but not down to this. Here it is now, except the laser is gone and a bipod took it's place. I love 22's.

I want one.

EDITED TO ADD: At the price however, it occurs to me that a .22 LR upper to fit your existing AR15 lower might be a more affordable solution. Hmmm....

I saw in one of the NRA mags as stock set-up that you could drop the 10/22 into. For like $199. I have taken the wood stock off my 10/22 before. Any reason that wouldn't produce the same result for a LOT less $$? I mean, the difference is only the stock right? Still same platform?

I bought a 22 conversion kit for my AR-15 and it works great.

Cost, about $200 delivered. It is a new bolt carrier group and magazine. Switching it out takes about 15 seconds and you're all set. It's nice to shoot the exact same rifle in .22LR and then immediately switch back to .223.

No experience, but if I were their webmaster, I'd get rid of that "gun cursor" script which turns your mouse arrow into a little pistol. It's as annoying as... as... well, you know what I mean.
