Andy, you realize of course that you're a bad influence? "rlol"

Well I almost got excited until I ran the numbers, based on what was said in the article.

It comes out to $1,000.00 ea. And I'm quite sure that is the importers price. A decent markup would be 30%-50%, making them come out to an average of $1.300-$1,500. It'll be really interesting to see what the importer actually markets them for.

The reporter was just quoting the numbers the Defense Minister threw out. Maybe the Defense Minister is in la-la land.

That $670.00 rifle just became $800.00 with a quality sight. Yea, I know they can be had for as little as $40 or so but, but, but.......

When an A2 is offered at those prices, I’ll take notice.

I have an issue with Del Ton.

I ordered an upper from them Last JANUARY.

I'm still wating.

I CONTACTED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES. their response, we process orders on a first come blah blah blah

full order: 4 AR15 mags and an AR upper

received the ar mags. never got the upper. then they just deleted the upper part of the order.

like. it. never. existed.

so they get no love from me. I'll never do business with them. AND i promise I will bad mouth them every chance I get.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Well I guess I should do nothing but bad mouth all AR builders then. I have had a DPMS upper on order since January and still don't have it. I have had a 6.5 Grendel upper on order from Alexander Arms since February and don't have it yet.

Have you not been paying attention?

If you want an AR that bad, cancel your order with Del-Ton and go to the gun show and over pay for one. There are hundreds on the tables right now. You would have gotten the same response from all of them.

that wasn't the point.

the point was they said they send it to me in order, when I was next in line. that's fine.
BUT, they completed part of the order (the magazines) and DELETED the other part (the upper).

to me, they just said, you know what, buzz off. THAT is what gets under my skin.

as to your situation, I have read a few posts about that, IIRC, and i'm sure you will quite pleased with the results.

as an aside, I have been quite pleased with my S&W M&P15.

My apologies, I missed the part about them canceling your upper order. That would peeve me as well. Probably wouldn't keep me from buying from them though. I bought one of their uppers last year and have been very pleased with it.

Thanks for posting AndyC.

I think I've changed my mind about that DPMS Sportical.

I just looked at Gunbroker and there was:
...Delton complete A3 upper without bolt, no bids with minimum bid of $335.00
...DPMS A2 upper with bolt with no bids and a buy it now of $470
...Rock River mid length A4 complete with no bids and a buy it now of $550.00
...complete Bushmaster H-Bar with no bids and a buy it now of $600.00

These were all on the first page of an "ar-upper" search and they all end in a few hours.

My point is that if you want an upper, Gunbroker has always had them. It may not be the absolutely most inexpensive price listed but they are there.

It may take a while to find what you want but if you are just looking for a project that can be put together, it's a great place to look.
