Any free shooting properties in Houston Area??

Just wondering if there was any land that was public which people could shoot on before hunting season.

None that I have heard of. Harris is so densely populated, I can't imagine that any such area is left.

I had a buddy who lives in the Dallas area and always finds secluded places to shoot. He told me there must have been several places down here. Maybe outside of Harris? Up in the Eastern side going to Livingston.

There used to be at least three in the Sam Houston National Forest. They were shut down probably five years ago by the USFS. Access roads appear to be permanently blocked.

If there are any others, I'm not aware of them.
