For some reason, mail only seems to leave the DPS on Thursdays. I don't know why, it's just what I've been told when I have called about certificate or application packet orders.

So, from the issue date to the following Thursday, it's just sitting in the mailroom.

Mine took about 6-7 days after the online flipped over....and think yes...everything seems to be mailed from Austin DPS on Thursdays...not abs. sure on that point...but think that was situation on mine.
I know...a 'long wait' ...!

No fanfare either. No letter in there saying "Congratulations on waiting so long" or "Welcome to the club"

Just the license, on a peice of cardboard insert.

But it's the most beautiful license in the world ;)
haha...Yep, that's how it's packaged....for all your time and effort...a regular #10 window envelope and a piece of heavier stock paper holding your CHL...just plain Jane...
Enjoy your Wally Walk...carry well n be safe!! Congrats!!
