It's hard enough to get a CHL-equivalent in Mass, then this bonehead gives other CHL's
a bad name. Shooting your neighbor over leaf disposal - sheesh.

It looks like Mr. Leonard will soon be an ex-CHL.

I'm guessing there's a lot more to what happened than a simple argument about leaves. I'm not going to discount the CHL just yet, as the neighbor very well could have been coming at him with a yard tool or something similar capable of deadly force.

Hopefully we'll hear some followup on this.

IMHO, the shooter is toast. This story makes it sound like he had an ongoing dispute over a fence and other property issues and escalated it. I don't know and can't know if that is the whole story, but the first one to call 911 wins.

Also note that his bail was actually $250,000. He posted $20,000 to get out of jail.

The shooter has been told he can't reside at his own home.

So now he's got huge legal expenses, plus he has to pay for another place
to lay down his head. Sheesh.
