Trepidation
The more time that passes, the more I fear seeing a status message stating that something is wrong with my application. Today makes three weeks since they received my packet, and the status still hasn't changed from "Sent packet to applicant"...
Maybe if I had paid with a check instead of online, I would be assured that they have at least opened the freakin' envelope.

Took class, paid fees, changed my mind. I want constitutional carry.

Don't be too worried. The website is notorious for not showing much of anything useful.
3 weeks is really a little too early for calling, but in this case it may ease your mind a little. Give them a call and see what they say.

For my renewal in June, it took 4 weeks for the site to reflect receiving my packet.jsimmons wrote:The more time that passes, the more I fear seeing a status message stating that something is wrong with my application. Oh....and if you have a clean criminal history and all the other requirements are met, then don't worry. Texas is a "shall issue" state so just give it some time.

Re: Trepidation
I wouldn't be overly concerned with the possibility that something may be wrong with you app. I'd be more concerned as to why it's not in the system yet. Have you called them today asking for the status? I think a call today is justified.

It's not time to panic yet...If it gets past the 20th or so of the month with no change then you still dont need to panic--just be assertive and call. But don't even think about it this early (if possible) LOL

jsimmons , i think 99% of us that have been through the process felt the same way you're feeling now .
in all honesty , you have it better than most that went through this during the first half of the year .
it was not uncommon for some to have waited 6 months or even more .
i' ll be willing to bet your status will change to "processing" within another week .

Another guy that got his packet receipt the same day I did went to "Processing" last Friday.
I really have a low tolerance for inefficiency and apathy.
Maybe I should go to work for them long enough to find my application, and move it to "processing"...

I was wondering the same thing with mine. Started "processing" today!

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson
