Griped at by the DPS lady on the phone!!!!!
So, I called today to check my status and the lady on the phone griped at me for calling and told me they are still waiting on the background information, give it 2 or 3 more weeks and to stop calling!!! Can you believe that? I have been waiting since July 24th so it is WAY over the 60 days and she has the nerve to gripe at me for calling them... what an idiot!!!

Sounds like its time to get in touch with your State Rep. I contacted mine after 100 days and I had my plastic within 10 days afterward; and that was in Harris county. 60 days to get your PIN is a joke.

CHL since 01/26/09

Nobody should gripe at you for making a civil request. If she didn't want to answer your question, she shouldn't have answered the phone. Contact her supervisor. Did you get her name? If her being rude and griping was unprovoked, then you have a legitimate complaint here. Personally I think they should hire me as a customer service rep. I promise I'll be nice.

+1 if you got her name, ask to speak with her supervisor.lonewolf wrote:Nobody should gripe at you for making a civil request. Yeah, i'd make the episode be known. But be cool about it. For all you know she was having a bad day, or just got yelled at by her boss. Be gentle...LOL

I can see/hear it now:

"Hello. {"Vanessa's supervisor, please} Who? Please say that name again. {Vanessa} Vanessa you say? One moment please. {Moment passes} I'm sorry, but we have no one named Vanessa in this department. Are you sure the name is Vanessa?"

hbkkicker, I think calls and emails to your State Senator & State Congressman relating this incident AND asking them to expedite your application is most certainly justified!

I live in Galveston County, work in Galveston County and have for the last 10 years. I figured I would give it one more week before I start contacting representatives. I know that this is a long process but it has been in their office since July 24th and there are plenty of people on here that already have plastic in hand that sent theirs in the same time I did or even a little later.
