Texas Law/code??

Re: Texas Law/code??
I see a whole lot of talk about what various DAs had instructed law enforcement to do, but I don't see any actual Texas cases.

As I said in another thread, it is very difficult to find information about misdemeanor arrests where charges are dropped or a judge dismisses the case. The ones you hear about are the cases that are appealed.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.
Re: Texas Law/code??
I think this is clearing up for me.
After I read again with the template of:
* You can legally carry anywhere that is not listed in PC 46.03 or PC 46.035, except for private property that is posted with a complaint 30.06 sign, and federal property (in most cases).
* In the case of amusement parks, hospitals, and government meetings (listed in 46.035), they must be posted with a 30.06 to prohibit concealed carry.
....so graciously provided by Jim...it seems 'more' consistent.
Now for the specific example of the police station:
1) It is government property
2) It is not specifically listed as No Carry other than being 'disarmed' in secure access areas
3) It had an old sign
How do those instances factor in?
- still have not figured out the smileys....maybe because I am using firefox????

The public part of a police station (the area that you can walk into without being given permission) cannot be posted with an enforceable 30.06 sign or any other sign that would make it illegal for a person with a CHL to carry a concealed handgun there.
That observation does not mean that you couldn't be arrested, prosecuted, and found guilty, depending upon how bad a day you are having.
As they say, concealed means concealed; but many transactions that take place in a police station require you to produce ID. Then what?
As usual, IANAL, etc.
As for the smileys there should be a palette of them on the right when you are composing a message. You may need to enable graphics for this site. I use Firefox and I've had that problem with a few sites (only a few, I don't know why). That would be Tools > Options > Content > Load images automatically.

Re: Texas Law/code??
Chuck Rosenthal had an issue with the modifications to the traveling laws. The Motorist Protection Act was a response to this, As far as I know there has been know direct challenge to the MPA.pedalman wrote:The Motorists' Protection Act is also clear. But that didn't stop ex-DA Chuckie from harassing good citizens.
Until case law is established, there is always a possibility of misguided arrest.
When bad mouthing the corrupt its a good idea to use their full names so potential voters can google their names. :)
