GA: Wrong number leads to shooting

Post by seamusTX »

In Savannah, Georgia, Tuesday, someone dialed a wrong number on a cell phone. The two parties exchanged hostile text messages, then agreed to meet in the parking lot of an all-night drug store at 2:30 a.m.

A 22-year-old man allegedly shot a 24-year-old man. The alleged shooter was arrested. The man who was shot is in the hospital.

This testosterone thing has gotten out of hand! Something must be done and done NOW - before there are more injuries.

Maybe the estrogen in the water will take care of the problem. ;-)

I have no sympathy for people who ask for it like this. Darwin isn't working hard enough.

This type of senseless stupidity was just waiting to happen. After all, there's drive by shootings, road rage shootings, why not text message shootings? Stupid kids. Who was it said "it's a shame to waste youth on youth"?

George Bernard Shaw. The exact quotation is, "Youth is wasted on the young."

Age 22 or 24 is plenty old enough to know better.

We used to call something like this a "two-fer" as shorthand for "two for one". It was a quick way of saying that two bad guys had done something amazingly stupid with the beneficial societal result that they both were no longer running around loose hurting innocent people.

The shootee in this one was lucky. Most of our two-fers ended up with one guy in jail for a long time, and the other guy in the ground for even longer.

NYPD referred to those incidents in their "tell it like it is" lingo as "misdemeanor homicide" because, while what was done was a serious offense and against the law, they felt the misdeed was mitigated by an outcome that left society safer than it was before.

I hate stupid people!

Classic case of alpha males wanting to prove their dominance.

I think some misunderstood Herbert Spencer and Darwin. Survival of the fittest is not limited to strength. It also has to do with brains. Which both of these individuals displayed that they were severely lacking the latter. :banghead:

Maybe that's why mastodons and sabertooth tigers are extinct.

Intelligence and cooperation are the keys. There are plenty of alpha males and females in national and state capitals, but they don't punch or shoot their opponents. They work out compromises.

This rocket scientist, no offense to actual rocket scientists, doesn't even seem to understand the trouble he's in yet or have any regret what-so-ever.

As long as they don't involve anyone else in their stupidity, fine by me. This sounds like a welfare/unemployment solution. Morons killing morons...perfect.

I've often wondered about the people that have a cell phone glued to them all night long. If mine rings after midnight, somebeody better already be in the hospital, yet I see people at 2-3AM yakking away.

The story doesn't say when this altercation started. Maybe the guy on the receiving end of the wrong number was angry because he was awakened.

I've gotten wrong-number calls in the middle of the night from obvious drunks, but my response was limited to suggesting a travel destination in a warm climate.

The real problem is these all-night drug stores and they need to be eliminated immediately. If it wasn't for these evil ANDS, those poor misunderstood yutes wouldn't have been able to hurt themselves.

I think we need a warning label!!
