Re: Cabela's handgun sale, various. Good from 10/29 to 11/8/09
Just wanted to let people know that the same Taurus can be had at Academy for $579.00

Re: Cabela's handgun sale, various. Good from 10/29 to 11/8/09
Most of what's on this list can be had at Academy at their regular prices for 10-25% less than these Cabela's "sale" prices.

dihappy:
There were 2 Taurus handguns listed.
If the 1911 RL can be had for $579, that's a much better price.
If the 709 Slim was $579 elsewehere, that's not good. :-)

Stainless .40 XDM's were $599 from multiple vendors at the Fort Worth gun show a couple months ago so $659.99 for the black, is a little high, although not terrible. All black .40's are quite a bit less at Bachman's than $659.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:Springfield XDM. 9mm or .40. All black or bi-tone contour frame.

That's the one that's $579 at Academy, normal everyday price.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:dihappy:

They also have the 709 at Academy and IIRC it is $359 or so but it's not listed on the Academy web site.

Cabela's does price matching. All you have to do is prove someone else has the same item in stock at a lower price and they will match it.
Re: Cabela's handgun sale, various. Good from 10/29 to 11/8/09
Why not reward the store who had the better price every day with your business rather than going to Cabela's for price matching?

You can shop wherever you like. I shop around and I have found Cabela's to sometimes be higher on some items, and sometimes lower. I'm just saying that, if you don't like their price, you can always ask for a better deal. You just might get it.

All:
Whenever I post these gun sales threads, I realize that Academy and/or Cabela's
do not always beat website prices such as http://www.budsgunshop.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or gun shows.
But if a gun show is not scheduled for someone's neighborhood, or there is a particular
gun that someone wants from the list, the extra $$ for a certain weapon may not be
a dissuading factor from buying at a somewhat higher-priced store.
I'm just trying to give everyone some options.
From the list above, the couple of items that I thought were a bit unique were the
Bersa with laser sights and the used LEO Glocks.
Happy shopping everyone, wherever you find your gun(s)!

That is definitely good to know :)Crossfire wrote: if you don't like their price, you can always ask for a better deal. You just might get it.
Kinda stinks that haggling on price is not the norm anymore, especially for higher-ticket items such as guns.
Cabala's is advertising LEO turn-in Glocks, you can't get that at Academy at any price. :) And they do have a pretty fancy store.
