Fugitive trace through online gaming

Post by seamusTX »

A woman who was living in Georgia was divorced. The father got custody of their 10-year-old son. The mother picked up the son from school and decamped.

Police had reason to suspect that she came to Galveston, because she had been a student at UTMB.

Police also knew that she was "addicted" to a certain online game. They tracked her via the game to a house on the west end of Galveston Island. She surrendered without incident and the boy was returned to his father.

Great police work.

“The car was backed in, so we couldn’t see the license plate,” Porretto said. “The plate had been removed from the front.”

If her auto was registered in Georgia, no front license plate is issued. You just get
one, which has to be mounted on the rear of the vehicle.

VERY good police work! You could have seen that story on a TV detective series.

Well, the police knew the make, model, year, and probably color and other identifying marks from the ex-husband.
