2009 Mayoral Candidates: Houston

I'm having trouble finding anything out about the mayoral candidates, especially their 2A stands. Anybody have any information or sources?

There doesn't appear to be a whole lot out there, but I did find this questionaire posted on the Harris County GOP website. Now, before I get flamed from some of you, I also extensively searched the DEM website, but they didn't have anything like the questionaire on the GOP site. There wasn't any information on 2A stance, that I could find. However, some of the other questions that were posed were rather interesting, IMO.

TLWV is the first place I went. In the past they have published fair assessments of the platforms of various candidates.

I just can't find such info on the Houston mayoral race.

I'm not too worried about their RKBA stance considering state preemption and the 30.06 exclusion for government property.

The problems that working people are facing here and around the world stem from the capitalist system of exploitation, which is going through the deepest crisis in living memory. How would you manage maintenance and improvement of the city’s
infrastructure (water and sewer lines, roads and bridges, etc.)? (60 word limit)

My campaign demands and fights for a massive federally-funded public works program to employ millions at union-scale wages that can be used to build public transportation and infrastructure as well as quality, affordable public housing, hospitals, and more, to meet the needs of all working people.

What initiatives would you take to coordinate public health and safety resources in the event of a future crisis, e.g. an epidemic similar to the H1N1 virus, or a hurricane or other natural disaster, or other emergency? (60 word limit)

The consequences of natural disasters and man-made crises fall heaviest on the working class. My campaign proposes universal public health care in one public system where disability benefits, retirement pensions, and health care for life are available for everyone regardless of their citizenship status.
