A new run on guns and ammo?
I was talking to a fellow at a convenience store and the topic of yesterdays shooting at Fort Hood and Today's shooting in Orlando came up. He told me that he has about five thousand dollars saved up and tomorrow is going to get as many handguns as he can because he's afraid there will be a handgun ban as a result of these two shootings.
I hope this guy is just the exception and we don't see another run on guns and ammo, I am just now starting to restore my ammo reserves I bit into during the last run.

How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I really can't see them banning handguns I mean really this was a soldier in the US Army, not Joe Public. Why punish the public because the army has guns! and how can you ban guns for the army....oh wait a minute I forgot who was president for a minute there!G.A. Actually the man I was talking to is concerned because the Orlando shooting, and the Fort Hood shooting were both carried out by attackers with handguns. I read an article where the attacker at Fort Hood used an FN 5.7 he purchased in Killeen and had an older .357 magnum revolver that they suspect was not used.

I hear what you are saying.
My thinking is though that it was 2 people out of several million that own handguns. Two troubled and rogue nut jobs. If they had used cars instead of guns would there be an outcry to ban those? No, of course not.... not that common sense ever prevails with the antis but really...what difference will banning handguns really make?

Its not a ban that I am concerned with, its the fear of a ban by the general public that will once again swallow up the supply of firearms and ammo.

I hear ya.
380 is still so hard to come by that we have limited the range time for the 2 380's we have. Ammo seems to be flowing a little better than say 8 months ago, but it still costs way more than it should.

Re: A new run on guns and ammo?
During the whole rush I may have bought 10 boxes of ammo for all calibers I owned prior to the rush. I have been using my reserves instead allowing new shooters (I Hope) to build up their own supply. However I am dangerously low on .45 ACP, .44 mag, .38 special, and .22 LR. My area is still low in supply although word is that suppliers are now starting to open the doors on their warehouses so they can start rolling ammo in.

Re: A new run on guns and ammo?
.22 LR is plentiful here, and .45 used to be pretty easy to come by but in recent weeks that seems to have become less so, and the price has jumped about $8 a box of 100.
The good news is that .40 and 9mm seem plentiful around here.

G. A. Heath:
The gentleman you spoke with has $5,000 sitting around and he's going to
spend it ALL on handguns? Must be nice during this recession time.
But if he's that concerned with possible weapons bans, it seems like he should
belly up to the gun counter and get a shotgun or 2 and some EBR's as well as pistols.
I believe we'll see $4 a gallon gas before the Dems decide to get a bloody nose
by trying some stupid gun control move. He might want to save his cash for
his vehicle's go-go juice.
As an NRA member, I appreciate that the NRA keeps gun owners' rights in mind,
and are always watching the lawmakers both in DC, and local areas.
