Mmmm, I don't know - that was a pic I took off Arfcom, IIRC.

The front trigger guard hole looks kind of shoddy. That's what made me wonder. If the holes weren't actually milspec or the LPK was out of spec that could have been a problem. DPMS roll pins can be particularly troublesome.

Put the lower together in about 30 minutes (followed the directions on AR 15.com). Put the upper on last night (fit like a glove). Ordered the butt stock and some mags today. should be in by weeks end, just in time to go break in the barrell.

Got it all together and everything appears to be working smoothly. Have not had an opportunity to fire it yet. With it all together, when I move the rifle barrel up to barrel down, there is a slight sound like something is sliding a short distance. It is not loud and does not slide for a long distace, but I cannot see anything through the ejection port or anywhere else. Is that normal or have I missed something. I will take the upper off tonite and see if it is the buffer stop pin/spring that has popped out. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

I sorry now I didn't build mine.

I want to free float the barrel, change the handguard, pistol grip, etc.

Of course, I can always use the upper and build another lower. :anamatedbanana

Took her apart last night and found the culprit. My Buffer has something in it that is rattling. Doesn't appear to be a major deal. Slid everything back together and ready to fire. Thanks for the support on this build. Will definatly not be my last.

Yeah, it's probably just the weights in the buffer flopping around. I have quite a few buffers that are the exact same H buffer, but some are noticeable noisier. If the noise bothers you try a Spikes ST-T2 heavy buffer. It' a little heavier than a regular H buffer, and filled with Tungsten powder instead of the block weights so it is very quiet.

Yeah once you build one its hard not to build another. I have built two so far but am planning on building at least two more.

Got the barrell pretty well broke in this weekend (clean, fire, clean, fire, clean, fire..........) Took a while, but everything works perfectly. Love the feel and sound of those AR's.

Make absolutely sure to put the flared end of the disconnect spring down. I learned this the hard way. I had several AR's that would only fire 1-3 times then not reset. By hand they would reset fine but the speed of actual firing they didnt.
