Galveston, Tuesday, November 17, 7:25 p.m., a 59-year-old woman was walking in the 22nd block of The Strand when she was attacked by a man armed with a hammer.
Despite being struck and injured, she held onto her purse.
This is fighting spirit.
Police arrested a suspect with bloody hands a short time later. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police also found a hammer and bloody shirt.

The location was not some obscure dark alley or slum. It was the heart of Galveston's tourist district.
I'm starting to be a little bit disgusted with this garbage. I guess the panhandlers are not getting enough contributions in this rough economy.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

Disgusting, I am familiar with the area and never had second thoughts walking up and down the strand with my kids on our annual visit to Bollivar. We didn't go this year because the house is gone.
Outside of that area is a different story, especially after dark. I don't need to tell you.
