I was at the pawn shop last night (Cash America) and saw a stock older10/22 for $169.99. It looked to be in pretty good shape (I'd say 90% or better), and even had the scope rail and a compact Bushnell .22 scope.
I put it on layaway. What do you think - a fair deal? I like the older 10/22s with their metal trigger guards and lack of krinkle paint on the receiver. Serial number started with 247-.
Most Ruger 10/22 go for around $200 so even if it is a bit dinged, plus for just a few hundred more you can turn it into a 100 yard tack driver or a plinker or whatever...the 10/22 is one of the most versatile platforms out there...and at that price...still a great deal!
