Those reader comments are great! The lady that says "only crack your window a little" is the best. Don't get me wrong - I feel bad for the young lady, since her parents didn't do their job. Thank you for posting this, we're still laughing at the "only a little" comment. Alas, must follow forum rules.

She's very lucky they only dragged her out of the vehicle and threw her on the ground, instead of pushing inside and kidnapping her. That was a very close call for her.

But he kept the service, "thinking that maybe OnStar would be of some help" someday, Corker said.
"Certainly it paid off tremendously last night," he said.
Couple of observations made by my cynical shoulder buddy:

· Only on CNN would a potentially deadly encounter be turned into an ONSTAR/GM commercial. Had it been a Ford Expedition, the vehicle would have simply been reported as an SUV.
· As the father of a whole passel of beautiful girls, I know the Senator was overcome with emotional relief from getting his girl back and probably was just rambling and joking a bit when interviewed but the idiot reporter should have concentrated the story on catching the murdering thugs. Instead, the story made the reader think that the Senator was more concerned with getting that silly car back.

Interestingly enough, that thought also crossed my mind when I read the article.

Thank to CNN for pointing out the pros of carjacking vehicles without Onstar.
Since our family vehicle is not Onstar equiped we purchased an aftermarket anti-carjacking system. No subscription fees and one touch operation.
Hint: it goes bang!
