Everybody know the smaller the parts, the more expensive the equipment!

As I recall, they never disclosed what the "Bionic Woman" cost, as they didn't want a bidding war between the two. :patriot:

While I wait I have been trying to get my hands on every pistol I can for a solid fit to my hand and smaller than my Taurus 1911. If I wanted to I think my size and frame can possibly conceal it with the proper IWB. Any one know of any local gun dealers in the North West Houston area. I have exhausted Academy, Gander Mtn, Thunder Gun Range, and Carter Country to name a few :)

TIA

Your best bet for handling as many guns as possible is probably going to the next gun show that comes to town. Even if you don't end up buying there, they'll have pretty much everything available.

"Handling" the guns is not the problem. There are a couple of gun stores around here that will let you fondle to your heart's content. And they have a large selection to choose from. The problem is actually firing the various pistols. Just because the pistol fits your hand, and is conceivably concealable, doesn't mean it's comfortable to shoot.

Think I'll go down to the range today, and rent a couple of pistols to see how they shoot.

RLR -- Next time you're up here, we can visit some gun shops if you wish. :fire Course we'll have to find something to keep the females occupied... :banghead:

Oh, and one of the FW Gun Shows was on this weekend. Went to it a few of weeks ago, but this isn't the big one. We should go to that one next time it comes around.

You might check out Tomball Pawn. They carry a large selection of new guns .
I purchased my last two guns there , and they had the lowest prices in town.

Also , Black Gold Guns and Ammo (713)-694-GUNS has new GLOCKS for $ 479. And new Springfield XD 40's for $ 459.

Disclaimer : I am in no way affiliated with either of the above mentioned businesses .

So, I just got back from shooting a Glock 26, and a Springfield XD Subcompact. Shot 50 rounds each, 10 rounds per target. 7 yard range.

The first 10 rounds from the XD were fairly tightly grouped, but quite low. Subsequent rounds improved somewhat. Could be I wasn't used to the sights.
The glock didn't seem to be as accurate (larger grouping), but was centered around the target bullseye.

The glock comes with two mags, one has an extended foot for the little finger. The std mag lets the little finger float.

Kinda like the extra safety on the XD (on the backstrap, 1911 style) for carry.

Had my FIRST EVER jam on the XD -- Failure to eject.

Anybody got any opinions regarding these two pistols, or suggest something comparable?

When I purchased my XD40 , I was on the fence deciding between it and the Glock 26.
Two things helped me settle on the XD.

1. The extra safety feature (grip safety)
2. A very knowledgeable and experienced friend (whos opinion I respect) owns a Glock 26
and told me his next gun will be the XD due to (in his opinion) the superior accuracy .

Both are excellent and extremely reliable guns . Its just a matter of personal preference.
I couldn't be more pleased with mine. ;-)

Personally I would go with the Glock, however, in your case it would seem that the XD is the more accurate target pistol.

Given that both are 9 mm pistols the ammo supply isn't entering into the calculation so just go with whatever gun YOU feel is right for you.....and enjoy the heck out of carrying it :tiphat:

Congrats on the plastic by the way :hurry:
