Want to take the CHL instructors class

I have checked the DPS web site but I did not find a schedule for classes. I did find the schedule for 2009. Does anyone know when the classes will be held?

I doubt there is an instructor class scheduled for 2010. Traditionally, DPS only runs one new instructor class each year.

I think he means "not YET scheduled for 2010". DPS usually has a new instructor class every year in June or July.

And I think there's a pretty good chance you might be in the first instructor class where a portion of the "normal" hours can be completed online. One of the guys at our place submitted his paperwork quite some time ago and has yet to have any feedback ....

Received this today 12/7/09 from the DPS.

the dates for 2010 instructor class are not going to be available for a while. The classes probably will be held like it happened this year in the first part of June of 2010.

You may have to keep checking for updates yourself in order to find out about the dates.

However the department takes applications currently and the classes will be formed based on the number of the applicants. The procedure is based on first come first serve so If you would like to apply for it please do so.

What is the process/requirements to become a CHL instructor? I've been thinking this could be an interesting side business.

To the O.P., intoday's renewal class it as mentioed the next class would be June. maybe..
