Tomorrow.

Post by longtooth »

Happy New Year every one.
I am almost well from the flu. Tomorrow will be reloading .45acp, Mom over for dinner, cabbage & Black Eyed Peas, cornbread & onion.
May shoot a little if it is pretty & sonny.
Hope you get to shoot a lot & all rounds down range find the 10 ring.
Happy New Year

Happy New year LT :tiphat:

I'm gonna sleep late , then off to the wife's parents for roast and blackeyed peas.
I'm not a fan of blackeyed peas but I'm told its good luck to eat them on New Years day.

Happy New Year to all of you . :cheers2:

Not really my favorite either. Crowders hold that place the Purple hulls.
My Granddaddy would roll over in his grave if we did not eat them New Years Day.

Forgot to mention , Where I live we can legally use fireworks. Every year my neighbor fires his cannon. We don't load it with the one inch cannon balls in the neighborhood but we pack it with wadded paper. He makes these in his machine shop out of solid brass.

Here's a video of it in action..Warning .. there may be a colorful word , but its very hard to make out.

Enjoy. ;-)

Happy New Year to all: I have my black eyed peas and cabbage all ready will do the corn bread thing as well. I hail from Illinois and never heard of eating this on New Years til I got to Texas. Just like I had never heard of eating gravy over rice; I ate it as a breakfast food with cinnamon, sugar and milk. Been here since 1967, still waiting on the good luck and money to come floating my way. Hats & Horns!

The 10-15 minutes around midnight was fine but it's time for them to stop shooting off fireworks. I'm about ready to call the cops, as fireworks are illegal inside the city limits.

Maybe if I start shooting back. :evil2:

Oh yeah. Happy New Year!

Welcome to Texas. Glad you made it South. Good Country Eatin her in Texas.
Welcome aboard here too. I really like gravy on the cornbread too. Really like it more than on biscuits. That was breakfast this morning. Eggs, biscuits, gravy.
Happy New Yr & may all your rounds by down range & settle in the 10 ring.

longtooth,

Do you get an annual flu shot?

I have for the past fifteen years or so and have yet to get the flu since I started...of course, I understand it doesn't necessarily prevent flu if exposed, but lessens the symptoms.

I do & did this yr. Pastoring a church I do spend a lot of time in the hospitals. They did tell me I would have been in real bad shape if I had not had the shot or had not come as soon as I did.
Other BIG problem was the 1st time I went the Dr. said I was not that sick so did not give enough or strong enough Meds & I relapsed. 2nd time around is really tough.
My family Dr was sick so I had to go to one of the Urgent Care Clenics. 2nd Dr looked at the charts & records of meds & ask if I took them all & as perscribed.
Yes sir. She only gave me 6 pills. 2 soon as I got home & 1 a day after. He kinda ducked his head & shook it & said well, we are fixin to get a hold of this. Whoppin big shot & 2 weeks of antibotic.
Dont stop before all are taken. It will assure that everything in you is dead & gone.
Promice I wont save any for later.
I feel way better now & the sun & fresh air today were good to get out in a while this morning.
Thanks for your care & prayers.

My neighbors were shooting them til 3. I called the cops and they said they would not come out as there is no city ordinance against them. I asked waht about disturbing the peace. They told me that they would only come for that if I made a complaint. I asked them what they thought I was doing and said never mind and went and solved it myself. Ridiculous!
