I currently have a shoulder rig (black nylon webbing, bought it years ago at a gun show, unsure of maker) for cold-weather wear (I normally carry IWB with shorts and belt but for cold-weather I tend to wear loose-fitting pants that don't have belt loops, ie - wind pants, cargo pants, etc. I'm not a "pants" guy unless I'm in a suit, I prefer shorts, that's just me LOL...maybe being fat, wait, I mean "fluffy" has something to do with it? LOL). My current rig is quite old, no wear, but getting a little "tight" and I think I'm at the end of adjustments. It's not too uncomfortable but looking at other rigs I see where they could be more comfortable, just by the design. Either way, I think I'd like to go with a nice leather rig. It would be for a Glock 17/19 and/or a Kimber Compact Aluminum. Currently my rig has a Glock 17 on the left and two high-cap mags on the right.
So anyways, with the formalities out of the way, any suggestions? I like the look of the Galco Miami Classic, haven't seen it in person though. Any good suggestions on local (DFW area) shops to *try* shoulder rigs out first? I haven't seen too many shoulder rigs at the gun shows, other than similar to what I have.
Thanks!

Re: Recommends/Suggestions for Shoulder Rig
The best selection I've seen in the area is at Winchester Gallery at Loop 820 E & E. Lancaster. Much better than Cabela's or Bass Pro. But I have to admit I've not been to Dallas gun stores in a bazillion years, so can't comment on that side of the Metroplex.

Re: Recommends/Suggestions for Shoulder Rig
I just heard that the Dallas Market Hall Gun Show is this weekend. Best in Dallas county, IMO. THAT would be a GREAT place to look for a holster!

Re: Recommends/Suggestions for Shoulder Rig
Joe - honestly, in my experience, I've never been too impressed with the holsters that I've seen at the DFW shows and I walk EVERY aisle and look at EVERY booth (it's an obsession/sickness, I tell ya!), usually not a whole lot of leather, pretty limited selection for what I want...and very few shoulder rigs that are different from what I currently have, but I haven't been to a show in at least 9 months, maybe the selection is better?
Re: Recommends/Suggestions for Shoulder Rig
I see what you mean PUCKER. Perhaps you've advanced beyond the offerings that one sees at a gun show. I went to the Ft.Worth gun show last October and lucked out by finding the EXACT holster I was looking for. Of course I didn't have a holster at all, at the time for my gun.

Re: Recommends/Suggestions for Shoulder Rig
Dallas Public Safety Supply downtown on Elm. You can park in the back and walk in. They encourage to bring your firearm and try out the holsters. A little on the high$$$ side, but you will not beat their customer service. They have everything you would want or need.

Thank you carlson, I try not to go to Dallas, but next trip there, will stop in!
Joe - it's not that I've advanced it's just that I wanted to try out all the fancy IWB stuff that you hear/see folks talking about on these forums...it's THEIR fault, I swear!
