All I can think it Hitman
Why do I need a reason other than "It's cool and I want one"? Most of us own a number of guns we will probably never do anything with except shoot at the range.
I can understand the reason for 30 Round mags, "Assault Rifles" ect
I just cant think of a GOOD reason to lay down that much cash.
Does the suppressor effect performance at the range for better or worse?
In Capitalism, Man exploits Man. In Communism, it's just the reverse
If the suppressor is on your home defense gun I can definitely hear a reason for it. If you are getting one just to have one I can still see the total fun to shoot reason to have one!
In other words I can't see any down side to having one if you got the money to get it!

Couldn't have said it better myself. One other thing is that you don't have to bother with pesky hearing protection either. As far as using it in a self-defense role...I personally would not want any of my NFA stuff to be involved in any kind of incident. There is time and extra money involved and I'd hate to see it gathering dust in some police evidence room.

That is why I would want it on my home defense firearm. I live in the country and not all predators are two legged. I agree with you about the LEO evidence lock up, but I woulld use it any way just to protect my hearing.

There is one person I know of who is regularly at the GRB shows who certainly often has a glock 18 with him. Yes, it's real and has a selector switch.

In Europe suppressors are not controlled like they are here. It is considered polite to use suppressors so you do not disturb your neighbors. The only reason, or so I have been lead to believe, that suppressors were included in the National Firearms Act of 1934 is that there was a fear, not of assassins, but of poachers. Game wardens felt that it would be much harder to catch poachers. Which makes sense because he NFA was passed in the middle of the Depression and many people filled the dinner table with game.
Untl you have the pleasure of shooting suppressed weapons you don't know what you are missing. I have a constant ringing in my ears 24/7 because when I started shooting we didn't use hearing protectors. I feel that it is a health issue.
If you take into consideration how many gun ranges are being shut down because of the noise issues, suppressors make sense.
There are issues with suppressors. There is a great deal of back pressure placed on the suppressor so you do get back blast with some weapons. There can be a change in the point of impact with suppressors attached.
