My wifes app

Post by FL450 »

Just sent my wifes app off Jan 5, it was recieved on the 7th.
It took me 120 days back in April on Brazoria county, I am Hoping from the positive post hers will be a whole lot shorter.
Wow! DPS cashed my check Jan 11, 4 days after recieving, a far cry from how long it took me back in April. I am stoked, guess I better get busy selecting my wifes carry method for her Sig P250-9mm

You'd better not wait too long , the way apps have been processed lately , she might find herself with the plastic before a carry method.

Has she got any thoughts on how to carry yet ?

Wrong!! You can make suggestions, but SHE will have to select the carry method.

If she hasn't already visited http://www.corneredcat.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; she should. Kathy Jackson has mucho good advice on carry methods that account for the different shape characteristics of a mature woman.

Does your wife know about the ladies' shoots at PSC? First Saturday of most moths, weather permitting: http://www.psc-range.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The SIG P250 looks to be not so easy to conceal if one wants to dress fashionably. With a sweatshirt, polo shirt, or sweater, any inside-waistband holster that accommodates it should work fine.

I want to first get her use to taking her gun in the car where ever she goes first, when she gets her Chl she will be able to carry in the school parkin lot.
She shoots with me now at PSC.
I will have to take a step at a time, not push to hard and let it be in her timing.
She is use to me carring 24/7 now and ask of I have my gun.
She is also comfortable with having her gun racked with one in the chamber in her night stand now
I can't believe she recieved her pin today, that's 8 days after DPS recieved the app.
Thanks for all the encouragement from every one in the forum.

She like her P250, If she can't find a comfortable way to CC, I might try to get her to look at somthing smaller like a Walther PPS or Rugar LCP and keep the P250 for a night stand gun.
She shot my German Walther PPK once but it's hard for her to rack the slide and I am afraid of slide bite that the original PPK is famous for because if it haopens once it will mean many steps backwards she will have to overcome.

Concealed carry needs a certain amount of dedication. I'll probably get in trouble for saying work ethic. Deal with it. I have seen petite women carrying large concealed handguns that truly shocked me.

OTOH, a .380 that someone carries is better than a .45 that they don't (cliché, but true).

Those itty bitty semi-autos are hard to work. Don't ask me how I know.

If she can find away to carry her Sig I am sure she would prefer that, she won't wear a fanny pack and she is aware that a purse can be grabed if she purse carrys.
One step at a time, I have looked at the corneredcat site a little for ideas, she is not that interested in the forums yet.

Just get yourself a bb gun that is identical to your real gun. Glocks and 1911s are the most popular bb guns.
