Howdy, I just took the class last week. I have my application ready but I'm waiting on my DD-214 for the 1/2 price discount. I have about a 50/50 chance of going overseas for 3 to 5 years, so I figure I would go ahead and get my CHL and if I wind up in Europe, then it should still be good when I get back. I have to figure out how to maintain a TX address during that time, because we will likely sell the house and upgrade when we get back. I'm also putting off my first gun purchase until I know for sure.

Right now, I really like the S&W 9mm SIGMA for me and the Heritage 22 for my 12 year old daughter. I was USAR from 83 to 91 and barely touched a weapon since. New Year's day my daughter and I went to a range near Houston with several family members and I rediscovered the fun with my kid. She's a natural with a 22 revolver.

I ride motorcycles (no car, except the wife's van) and play guitar. I'm enjoying the site. Thanks for letting me on board.
