I took my CHL Class on June 24 2006. Aced the test and shot a 250/250. I mailed the application in on July 14 2006, 20 days later. I received the PIN in the mail on August 17 2006, 34 days later. I found out it was approved on August 21 2006, 4 days later. I received the license in my mailbox on August 28 2006, 7 days later.
The total time from mailing it in to receiving the license is 65 days.
So tonight I ate at Schlotzky's, went to Walmart to buy ammo and got gas on the way home. I didn't feel nervous or fidgety. I think it helped that I was "carrying" at home during the waiting period. Having the gun at my 3:00 has somewhat felt normal.
My timeline: only 45 days

Thanks.
The bad thing is I am currently buying a house. I expect to close on Sept 22, which means I'll have to file a change of address plus $25. My license will be less than a month old. I was going to wait until my house hunting was over but I figured that might take several months.
Oh well. At least I have it already.
