Redneck .22 Laser Boresighting tool

Post by UpTheIrons »

Yes, it is true. There is no limit to the creativity that we of crimson nape possess. I wondered if it would work and, "Lo!" and "Behold!" it does! YMMV on anything other than a bolt gun, but why not try and improve on my design? I'm not planning on a patent, nor am I claiming any IP rights.

This is your standard green 532 nm laser pointer slipped into the space usually occupied by the bolt. I had to add a piece of cardboard to cover the trigger and to use as a lever to press the laser's activation button. Then, point it at the wall (I shot a 15 yard distance with my rangefinder) and adjust the crosshairs as needed. It can't be off any further than if it were boresighted by a gun shop, right?

Once the rain stops, I'll give it a go and see how close I was.
