I had all four of mine pulled 3 weeks ago. It was not as bad as I expected it to be (although one tooth did crack) - however, you really need to do EXACTLY as they told you - after the extraction. Definitely rinse your mouth out with saltwater and NO using a straw! If you get a dry socket, it is very painful (what I have been told). You do not want a dry socket! The Annoyed Man wrote:I had all four out at once. One of them had to be broken up before it could be extracted. But it wasn't that bad. Yes, it hurt, but it wasn't as bad as the horror stories you hear. However, I did notice that it hurt worse the next day than it did the day it happened. So if you had your procedure done this morning, don't be surprised if you're 4 kinds of sore tomorrow.
Also, you may experience some visible bruising on the underside of your jaw and neck as the bleeding and swelling drains toward your body. Just be sure to follow directions to avoid getting a dry socket. That would be bad.

I did reward myself by buying a Les Baer Thunder Ranch after the wisdom teeth!!
