All I remember about my wisdom teeth removal (3 at once) is the gas mask going on, a prick for an IV, and then the nurse whispering that my wife was going to pick me up in 10 minutes. I knew my mouth was full of gauze, but I didn't care at the time. I think I took some pain killers afterwards, but I really don't remember much pain at all. It got me out of work for a few days, too. Can't preach very well with a mouth full of gauze!

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Glad to hear it is going well for you.

As to the long(er) term storage of meds, an ER nurse told me to keep filled prescriptions in the refrigerator. My wife keeps an anti-nausea pill on hand for if/when her blood sugar shoots out of control. Since she almost never uses it, the nurse said to keep it in the fridge, that it helps the meds maintain potency well beyond the one year printed on the label. We had some hydrocodone that was still plenty potent 2 years after it was originally filled. The other danger (or so I've been told) is that it degrades into something other than what is on the label - I'm not sure when that is, but I don't keep stuff much beyond that 2 year window.

(Edited for clarity)

SO I got to keep the teeth, letting them soak in Bleach and Water.
What the heck should I do with them?

I just got back from taking my daughter to have 4 pulled.

She was thirsty so she removed the gauze and tried to take a drink.
That must be some good numbing medicine because the water just ran right back out of her nose and mouth.

She's in no pain yet but I'm using this thread to give her an idea what to expect.

Hunger, thats what!
Also, when she lays down put her at an angle

mashed potato from KFC (let them cool WAAAAAAAAAAAAY down)

Protien Shake or Slim Fast shake helps too.

Lots of water

Care full with the dairy it combined with the meds can give you an upset stomach or make you throw up(so far I havent)

Dont let her try and do too much, it catches up with you fast

Dont try and make her talk too much, it hurts your mouth, face, and throat. Dry erase board all the way, or just ask yes or no questions.

Rent some movies, grab some magazines, puzzles, ect.

Good luck!

:iagree: I had all four of mine out at the same time also. The day they were removed was not so bad, but the rest of the week was a different story. :cryin
Same story here. I had all four out at the same time. The bad news, I was very sore for a week. The good news, having all four out at once means that you don't have to go back for any further wisdom tooth removals!
