League City: The Cream of America's Youth

Post by seamusTX »

According to a story in the local newspaper, a 65-year-old woman was driving with her 13-year-old granddaughter in League City Thursday. The girl asked to be taken to a volleyball game. The grandmother refused. The girl then began kicking the woman in the head while she was driving.

The woman stopped, got the girl calmed down, and resumed driving. The girl then started kicking her again.

When police arrived, the girl at first resisted being removed from the car. After she was "cuffed and stuffed," she tried to kick out the rear window of the police car. All allegedly, reportedly, etc.

The girl was charged with injury to an elderly person and resisting arrest. She was in custody at press time, awaiting a hearing.

Who and where are the parents? Get a rope...no, on second thought; get three (3) ropes.

My son was accepted into the US Air Force Academy and cross-commissioned into the USMC as a Cobra helicopter pilot, then went to Iraq. He did his time and is now an Operations Manager at an aerospace company. My daughter enlisted in the AF and fixed C-130 engines, then went to Afghanistan. She did her time, got her degree using the GI Bill, and is now a police officer in Arlington.

They both went to schools in League City. You can find good and bad kids in any city.

Congratulations! FWIW, I think the home environment has a great deal to do with the maturation process. It's called example, expectations and accountability - going both directions.

I think League City also has "per capita more citizens with concealed handgun licenses than any most other communities in Texas". well now I know why : )
