I'm sick of it, just sick of it.

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

oh So Obama, his Staff, Congress ect havent made any Domestic or Foreign mistakes that you can think of?
You're kidding me, right? Thanks for the specifics.
If they did, Should they apologize for them?
I believe the whole BHO administration is a mistake. Still waiting for that apology.

The commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan went on national television Tuesday to apologize for a deadly airstrike, an extraordinary attempt to regain Afghans' trust while a mass offensive continues against the Taliban in the south.
And you think the Commander of US and NATO forces made this televised statement without the knowledge of his Commander In Chief?
Do you think the current administrations escalation of the offensive front in Afghanistan deserves our support or an apology?
I'm really trying to understand exactly your positions.

Whats my position?
I have no problem with us finally sending more troops into Afghanistan. I have no problem with the US being in Afghanistan. I dont have a problem with us helping kick out a Terrorist group that was more or less holding the people of that nation Hostage.
Now for the Commander to go on TV and say that that they have made some mistakes in how they have handled the fighting lately, not a problem at all.
Now Obama goes to Europe and says America has been less than great with its Allies and that the Government has made mistakes, but that our Allies need to stop being Anti-American and that we need to work together and see that each side bring something to the table, is seen as America being "Weak" or "Apologizing for being American." I dont like Obama, I think he's making mistakes, I dont think he's a TRUE "Socialist". Look at the standard of living in places like Sweden, Canada,Norway ect where they have REAL LIFE socialists and I think we can take away the stigma with that word. Obama would be a Conservative in any other country.

You think Sweden is an example to follow? They have high, redistributive income tax and general welfare benefits. I don't need anyone "redistributing" my income. I do like the Swedish Bikini Team.
Canada? Has some aspects of socialism for services. But it has a capitalistic economic system based on free enterprise. Therefore, it is impossible it is socialistic. Additionally, they have what I consider to be extreme gun control issues. Victoria is nice during the summer.
Norway? The Red-Green Coalition is committed to left wing socialist ideals. They are protected by the gov from cradle to grave. Not for me.

Pure socialism is the government controls all aspects of business. There is no free enterprise. No one can own a business nor profit from it. All profits go to the state. It is a system that is wrought with problems, one of them being stagnation, because it takes away all incentive to excel. Do I think America practices many aspects of "Socialism"? Yes. BHO, Pelosi, Reid etal seems to further the Socialist agenda. Remove the stigma of the term Socialist? No. Whether Marxist or non-Marxist, Socialism needs to be stigmatized. Not what this country was founded on.....might have moved that way through the years......but a return to a constitutional government would be welcomed. If it's not set out as an original responsibility in the constitution: the federal government has no business doing it. Less government. Less government programs. Less federal legislation. More personal responsibility.

Would you believe there are still many people who believe the earth to be the center of the universe and say "a heliocentric model is the devil's greatest deceptions to mankind."? I am sent their literature regularly (and about every other church address too). I centertainly disagree with them, but out of curiosity, you might google geocentrism.

All I know is, I'm really tired of seeing what 'hope and change' is turning this country into. I happen to agree with Rush on most things, and I really think he is exactly correct in his view of most things political. There are a few guys out there who are really frightened at what is going on in our country.

It seems to also be true that moderate democrats are thinning out.....they seem to be moving quite quickly over to the far left, at least that's how they are voting. These are the lunatics that must be voted OUT in November.

I respectfully disagree and I believe this is what marksiwel is talking about. I believe you may feel this way because you've never met a moderate democrat. I am aware of at least one democrat on this board that had publicly announced his political disposition but still likes his guns. That's pretty moderate to me.

Is he a politician?

Karl appears to consider him a decent man, so that would probably rule out his being a politician...

My point is that if the "one democrat on this board that had publicly announced his political disposition but still likes his guns" isn't a polititian, Karl is respectfully disageeing to something that I didn't say.

It was Obama.
America has made mistakes, treated its Allies badly in a way (Freedom Fries?) Mistakes have been made.
If it wasn't for the USA they would be called german fries.
BTW - The french call American cheese, idiot cheese.

I think you mean Russian, if America hadnt stepped in Russia would own everything but England, but thats neither here nor there.
So we help an ALLY in WW2 60 years ago, they disagree with our reasons for invading in Iraq, and now we trash them? What are we 12?
Compared to the fancy cheeses in France, American cheese is kinda crappy by their standards.

I think that we have helped them more than once in the last sixty years. Also it was more than a disagreement over the war. They denied us use of their airspace. I also don't think that they are talking about quality when they refer to it as idiot cheese.

edited to add: the germans were occupying france, not russia.

I'm speaking of the end of the War. Russia could have beaten Germany without any US help, but they would have been running mainland Europe. As unpopular as these seems, the USA role in WW2 alittle overblown, compared to the almost nonexistent recongization of Russia's influence and help to defeat the Germans. Remember they Captured Berlin not US.

Not to be argumentative but.....
I was speaking to what was, not to what might of been. We freed France from Germany not Russia. Do you think D-Day was overblown? How about when we convinced the Japanese to surrender?

edited to add: 406,000 dead servicemen is not overblown.
