Police hunt for 3 men behind vicious home invasion

Post by GrayGhost »

I will aplogize in advance if this is posted in the wrong area. I have read posts in the pasts about members who carry around the home. I too carry around the home, but more from a "get used to my new holster" approach. I was guilty of the old, "it can't happen to me" philosophy. There has now been a home invasion in my home city and I will, therefore, continue to carry around my home long after I get used to the new holster...

WATAUGA - Police in the Tarrant County town of Watauga are looking for three men responsible for a violent home invasion, targeting two women.

The men went into a home at the Park Vista Townhomes and bound, robbed and sexually assaulted one of the victims that was inside that home.

Police say the three men forced their way into the home, after knocking on the door.

The victims are two women in their 20s. One was bound with an electrical cord; the other was handcuffed. They were held at gunpoint, while the men ransacked the home, taking a computer, a television, and at one point, two of the suspects drove away to a nearby bank and took money out of an ATM machine.

It was during that time that the gunmen assaulted one of the victims inside.

Two of the women's vehicles were taken, one of which was recovered yesterday in Fort Worth. Police are looking for clues inside that vehicle.

Another vehicle, a 2003 white Chevy Impala with a Texas tag BF14174, still has not been found.

One of the suspects has the word "Mookie" tattooed on his right hand and "Kathy" on his neck. He is described as African American, 19 or 20-years-old, 5'7" tall and weighing 160 pounds.

While they are not saying this is random, police do say these women were likely targeted by these suspects.

WATAUGA — One of three men accused in a Watauga home invasion where a woman was sexually assaulted has a tattoo on his right hand with the word “Mookie” on it and another one on his neck with the word “Kathy”, police said Wednesday.

The man is accused of sexually assaulting the woman while his two accomplices took an ATM card from the woman’s apartment, got money out of a bank and used the card at a store, police said.

Three men forced their way into the apartment about noon Tuesday in the 6700 block of Park Vista Boulevard and bound two women, ages 25 and 29, police said.

One of the women heard a knock on their door, police said. The men, one armed with a handgun, forced their way in after the door was opened, police said.

The suspects bound both women’s hands behind their backs, police said. One woman was handcuffed and the other was tied with a cord, police said.

The three suspects took a computer and some other electronic items from the apartment, police said.

“Two of them left the apartment with an ATM card and one of them stayed behind in the apartment guarding the women,” said Watauga Det. Jason Babcock on Wednesday.

At some point, the man with the tattoos is accused of sexually assaulting one of the women, police said.

“They called him back and he left the apartment,” Babcock said.

One of the women managed to break free from her bonds about 2 p.m., went to the manager’s office, and notified police.

One woman had two vehicles at the apartment and the suspects took both, police said. A white Chevrolet Tahoe was recovered about 6 p.m. Tuesday in Fort Worth.

But police continued their search Wednesday for a white Chevrolet Impala which has Texas license plates BF1-Y174.

The man accused of sexual assault is African-American, about 19 to 20-years-old, short hair, about 5-foot-7, weighing about 160 pounds. He also has the “Mookie” and “Kathy” tattoos, police said.

The other two men also are African-American, but police had little other descriptions of them. “They kept trying to conceal their faces,” Babcock said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crime to call their local police department.
