Smallest State Park in Texas
Just noticed that TPWD dumped all 261 sq ft of Acton State Park onto the Texas Historical Commission a couple years ago, so it lost its status as the smallest Texas State Park. Anybody happen to know what the smallest state park is now?
Re: Smallest State Park in Texas
I believe Blanco State Park is now the smallest in Texas, at 110 acres. Just a little bit larger than Acton's .01 acres.

Port Isabel Lighthouse? Web says 0.9 acre. Don't know if it should be considered a state park.
History: Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historic Site consists of .9 acre in Port Isabel, Cameron County. The park was acquired by purchase from private owners, Lon C. Hill and the Port Isabel Realty Company, in 1950 and was opened to the public in 1952. In September 1996, a $320,000 Visitors Center was completed and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department turned over the daily operation of Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historical Park to the City of Port Isabel, according to a 1993 agreement. While the operation and daily maintenance of the lighthouse and Visitors Center transfers to the city, Texas Parks and Wildlife retains ownership of the state park and will be responsible for any major repairs.

Acton was Davy Crockett's second wife's grave but it was turned over the Historic Commision in 2008.
The 80th Texas Legislature transferred operational control of this site from Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to the Texas Historical Commission effective January 1, 2008.

Smallest State Park in Texas
Acton, Texas
.006 acres. It's the tiny fenced zone around the grave of Elizabeth P. Crockett, Davy's second wife. Elizabeth was granted land in Texas for the bravery shown by Davy Crockett at the Alamo. But she waited 17 years to claim it, and by then all of the good spots in Texas were taken. So she ended up having to give a surveyor half of her savings to find a tract worth claiming. Her grave was declared a state park in 1911, and the Texas Legislature paid $2,000 to erect a tall pillar with her statue on top, looking west, waiting for Davy to come home. Maybe Texas felt guilty.
Now it is Blanco SP

The Blanco State Park is just a stroll away from downtown Blanco. It is the smallest state park in Texas, as well as the only one situated within a city limit. Built in 1934 through 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corp. on 110 acres including both banks of the Blanco River at Highway 281, in Blanco. The park opened in 1936.
