I was very lucky. They simply unzipped a side window on the jeep and took what they wanted. They didn't break or damage anything (other than a little rain getting in the jeep because the lazy son of a guns didn't bother to REZIP the window).
Total loss was under $200 - cop actually came inside the house to get my statement (as I said, it was raining outside), and he did ask me (because my range bag was sitting open on a kitchen chair) if any weapons were stolen from the car. I told him, "no, during the night, they were all warm and snuggly near me"

Thankfully on one was hurt, items can be replaced. I understand how you feel, my house was broken into about 5 years ago.
Cougars are shy, reclusive, and downright mysterious...
