Basically
It didnt happen in the same Wal Mart it happened in Neberska!
So they told me to file a Police Report
DO I file in Austin, where I THINK the Number was stolen
Do I Call the Neberska police and report it there
Or Can I go to my local PD (Cedar Park)
I'm trying to call the family of Lawyers but they are all in Class, at Court, or out of country!![]()
P.S. The Wall Mart in Neberska says they have the video of the guy
The same type thing happened to me almost a year ago, and the bank took care of all of the fraudulent charges. They also encouraged me to file a police report, so I just called my local precinct Constables, since I'm in an unincorporated town, and they came to me. I filled-out a one page form and they gave me the report number. I didn't think I would ever need to reference that number again, but about a month ago, I got a letter in the mail from a collections agency. I immediately called them and told them that they had the wrong guy, and the lady asked if I had a debit card that ended in XXXX. I thought for a moment, and realized that it was the old debit card number that was stolen. Long story short, the lady said that all she needed was a copy of the police report, and the claim would be dismissed. I did that and faxed it to her, and I rec'd a letter today stating that the claim was dismissed as "fraud", and that I would not be held responsible for the debt.
PM me if you have any questions...I'll help if I can.
That's awesome that they have a video of the guy. Nail him!!
