A training log is a great way to focus your practice time. You could get a bound composition book and log your training in there. Are you looking for ideas on "how to build progressive practice plan?" or a method of keeping track of what you do?
Claude Werner has some practice CD's that are very reasonable. There are some timed standards on them that could be used to measure your progress. Some of his thoughts about practice are here:
