Trip to Missouri

Post by sjfcontrol »

Is there some convenient location to find the reciprocity with other states, and how those states concealed carry laws differ from ours?
I will be driving to a reunion in Missouri this summer, so I'm interested in Ok, Ar, and Mo.

I frequently travel through Arkansas to Missouri. Use the http://www.handgunlaw.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to look at prohibited places.

A few of the big differences are in Arkansas you can't go into a private residence unless you advise the homeowner you are carrying. In Missouri you can't carry into a church or any portion of a police station or any government buildings. However, if you do carry into any prohibited place, there is no fine or penalty unless you refuse to leave when asked. Neither state requires you to show your CHL unless asked for it. Also, there is no signage law in Arkansas, but Missouri is a sign at least 11x14 and 1" letters stating 'No Concealed Carry' in the verbiage.

Thanks, Keith.
By the way, in looking at the various states in that site, I see references to "WMA's". Seem to have something to do with parks or wildlife preserves. Any idea what "WMA" stands for? Couldn't find a definition. (Wildlife Management Areas, maybe?)

Wheelgun, thanks for the link. I bookmarked it. That's a pretty handy app. I'm driving to California later this year, and then in the fall we're driving to Florida. I was pretty confident about the laws between here and California, but not so much so about between here and Florida. The handgunlaw.us website is also a good tool, but the carryconcealed.net app is a very handy too. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, it is Wildlife Management Area, and if it is a Federal WMA, and allowed by state laws, then you can carry in them.
