Vehicle wrapping firm's web site has many photos.

I have always marvelled at the commerical vehicles I see
which are "wrapped" in vinyl of high quality, but never knew
where this was done, or much about it.

Well, the above site has just started advertising and I checked
out their website. They have large photo galleries of their work,
as well as a great overview/tutorial about how the graphics process
works. Their HQ is in Dallas but they have other sites as well.

For those who have commerical vehicles, this a high visibility option
to advertising your biz. As your vehicle is driven around, you have the
chance to create thousands of "impressions" a day, as they say in the
ad biz. Each person who sees your vehicle is an "impression."

Over the years I have seen custom PAINTED vehicles, but whenever I
ask where they got the work done, the answer was usually "I bought it this
way from a dealer/from a guy." This wrapping place could be used by
owners of private vehicles for a custom job without painting it.

These wraps are made for extended outdoor use, and at such time you
don't want the wrap anymore, it can be removed with minimal distress
to the paint underneath - pretty neat.

View the Police section photos. They have the Rockwall, TX Forensics truck,
the Corinth, TX motorcyles and the Flower Mound recruitment car. By the
way, Flower Mound has got to have the ugliest police cars around. They are
mostly black with baby blue and white stripes. You'll have to look at their
wrapped car to get the general idea.

Another interesting set of photos they have is of the DPS trooper cars that have the
theme "Drink. Drive. Go to Jail". "Choose your ride"- themed cars have the
black and white fronts of DPS cars but the rears are painted taxi yellow. Bexar
County Sheriffs Dept also has an entry.

when I worked in the music industry we used to have busses and trailers wrapped. we never used a new bus because the wrap will mess up the paint in spots.

I was going to purchase a Smart Car as a gimmicky promotional item and have it wrapped for my business, but the economy prevailed (and I was spared the humiliation  ).

Wrapping isn't even that expensive, all things considered. I think I was quoted somewhere in the range of $800.

Remember the $800 is for a smart car, not much surface area.

We are doing PT Cruisers. Bigger, but less angular.

Rex, these are the folks I got my quote from: http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/ ... 4-631-7300

That quote is about a year and a half old, so prices may have gone up since then. I was looking at just having my Logo (which is in reflex blue) against a bright color gradient, like the header of my website (WHAM Productions).

BTW, the Smart car is the vehicular equivalent of an egg. There's not much in the way of angles to it at all. Here are some examples of wrapped Smart Cars from SIA's link:

The "Tank" in the middle is my favorite.

As if driving a smart car weren't bad enough! But I gotta admit, you will get some attention! :smilelol5:

Maybe they charge by the square inch

We're about due to do another one.
I'll add them to my RFQ list.

On looking at this photo, I believe we used "PSG Wraps".
I can't believe we let them leave that big sticker on the car.

Speaking of Smart Cars, there's one I see on a regular
basis which has a large windup handle on the rear!!

That's pretty good right there. I saw a VW bettle once that had mouse ears and a wiondup handle on the rear hatch. Pretty funny.

I have a friend who drives a VW bug. They are always decorating the VW emblem on the back for differently holidays with magnetic stick-ons they get made. The funniest thing though is the bumper sticker on the back that says 'Yeah, it's got a Hemi' LOL

On the wrap, I have been thinking about getting the sides of my balloon trailer done. This may be an affordable place to see about having them put on. Would probably be cheaper that getting it painted. :thumbs2:

Someone told me that the Hurst, TX police department
(between Dallas and Fort Worth) Dodge Chargers have
the "Yeah, it's got a Hemi" bumper stickers on them.

That's kind of sassy for official marked units!

I have not seen them firsthand.
