The positive is that, none of us, our parents, grand parents, etc. had anything to do with it, so we can call more for what it was.

Its interesting that the definition for treason is the same under both the US Constitution and the CSA Constitution.

The use of "civil war" is a misnomer, because a "civil war" is one where competing parties fight for control of the same country. This was a war for independence, where the seceding states had no interest in governing the former "U.S.A.", just as the Colonials didn't want to rule England, merely be separate from it and free to govern themselves.
