OHIO out of state CHL

Post by Teamless »

Once I have my Texas CHL, I can pretty much go to any state (that I would need to go to) with the reciprocity of the Texas CHL, except for Ohio, where my father and a few other relatives live.

I know Utah is a good out of state to get, but is there an "easier" one to get (Without having to take another class, like Pennsylvania (which is not honored in OH either))?

Anyone have any knowledge with their out of state licenses?
Thanks

If your #1 priority is fast Ohio reciprocity without needing a second course, try Virginia. Utah is without a doubt better overall (and is slightly cheaper at ~$65 vs. the $100 for a non-rez Virginia CHL, though the money you save on course fees would offset that), but you won't need a new Utah-certified course for Virginia, and their issuing time is faster by law than Utah: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms_Non ... ealed.shtm shows you the details, along with the fact that any state-certified or NRA-certified instructor's course if valid already, no matter how old or even if done completely online. If you don't have a Texas resident CHL, or if you also plan on going to Washington state, go with Utah.
