Two weeks and NO action!

Two weeks and NO action!
It's been two weeks since I mailed off my packet back to Austin and the website still says, "Packet mailed to applicant".
How long does it take to change to some other statement indicating action?

It can take quite a while. You've got to remember that CHL applications are up also and yours is one of many. Don't forget also that the offices are closed on weekends.
It WILL come.
It WILL come.

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Its been a full five weeks since I sent mine in, and there is no update on the website. However, when I called them in Austin to find out what the deal was, they told me that my packet had already been entered into system and that they had already sent out requests to two different counties for background checks.
Give them a call, they are quite helpful and polite, at least in my experience.

Hey all!
Guess what the Texasonline website still says? Yup... that's right... "Processing Application". Yet... guess what I received in the mail Saturday? Yup... you got it right again! It's my CHL!!!! Yippee!
So, to all of you out there that were in my shoes... CALL THEM! They are not updating their site as often as they should. Why? They are too overwhelmed.
So, let's see... it took a total of 63 days to get my CHL in the mail. That's not all that bad I guess from all I've read.
Keep your chin up and smile... it'll be here 'fore ya know it!
(Plus... Smile a lot and everyone will wonder what you're up to!!)

Definitely would call DPS and do some checking up on status... by 5 weeks it should have changed by now....unless re-do on prints, etc.JRG wrote:FIVE WEEKS and still no change on the DPS website!!
