I use the term heater all the time. Maybe it's a Colorado thing since I was raised there. I've also heard people refer to their piece as a 'hog leg' but only here in TX.

My sister and I have a special code word for gun: tire. The story goes like this: one of my younger sisters who was about 4 at the time saw me showing a AR15 to my dad. She walked up, pointed at it and smiled and said "Tire!", turned around and walked away. I figured this was due to the color and texture of the rifle and its grips. Of course our code word for ammo is 'air'

Got your tire on you? Bring some extra air too?

I would have a hard time if I asked my wife if she had a spare tire though!
