Wife and CHL

Post by dtalley »

:clapping: :clapping: My darling wife took and passed her Concealed Carry Course yesterday and was eager to go look at weapons today. We will be mailing her packet tomorrow. I am very proud of her. I'll post in the "Waiting Room" soon as we get it sent...

Congrads and Well Done!

Suggest running copys of all that is sent in for your records. Very handy at renewal time! (or if problem.)

dtalley:

Congratulations on being married to a guntoting woman!!

Do you or her have a strong preference for one gun vs. another gun?

What kind of gun does she think she wants?

Congrats for sure.
My wife was eager to take her CHL Class, which we did together on March 13, while I have my license, she has yet to mail out her package. She has the "whatever" attitude about it now :confused5

My wife has the attitude that I have one now, so she has no need to get it. The good news is that my mom is going to take her class next week (she just turned 72).

That is good news. Props to your mom. :thumbs2:

My wife wants one but is not motivated enough to have gotten it yet.
I have made up my mind to push her a little harder once she gets settled
into her new job and things calm down a little bit.

The crazy part of my mom wanting her CHL is that my dad is against the idea (I am the man, I will protect the woman....arrrgh). My mom and dad are gone about 4 months out of the year in a high dollar motor home (two grey hairs in a rolling house that costs more than my 4 beadroom house!!). I told her straight out...you guys are a target. While they travel, they stop at rest stops and truck stops also.

Mom gets it, and wants to buy the Taurus Public Defender composite (I like her taste in guns). She said she did not care about the size, as she has a big purse.

SecedeTX:

When I just read that your mom wants to get a Taurus Defender,
I just burst out in laughter.

She is one unique gal! The general consensus on the board seems to
be that a big, heavy, 5 shot Judge/Defender isn't most people's idea of a concealed
carry piece.

But of course since your parents are in an RV, it's OK since it's more like
a "house" gun.

You tell her to rock on. And if your dad is so concerned with being the
protector, he needs to get his CHL too. She's calling him out on the gun front!!
