I have had one of these for over 10 years. Worn it on about 15 hardcore camping and backpacking adventures in everything from 120 degree heat in Death Valley to Colorado blizzards. It has held up like a champ and still looks good. It may not fit with the theme you boss wants, but it is a really great hat for the money IMO.

Go for the palm leaf hat. You shape them by dipping them in the tub. they last good and you wont look like a total tool. Get someone that knows the current style to shape it for you if they dont do it where you buy it. What ever you do dont buy the wal mart hat!! Better to go bare headed.

Larry Mahan is the one I wear. It's an oval shape.

UPDATE

Bought myself a Atwood palm hat yesterday, so far I like it quite a bit. I bought one without vent holes on it, finding a hat in 7 1/8 was a bit more tough that I thought.

Is it bad that I'm a Texan but have never owned a cowboy hat and have only owned one pair of cowboy boots in my life - and that only because a former GF "strongly suggested" I buy the boots?

I'm a tennis shoe and baseball cap guy. :txflag:
