Majority of Americans oppose OC

Yeah, it's garbage...but one bit of info I find to be highly amusing...
According to a poll released by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence Wednesday, 52 percent of respondents were against "people in general" openly possessing loaded firearms in public places. 44 percent were in favor.
The MONSTER of all Anti's could only muster up 52% against OC?!?

The key word here is "openly" take that out and their percentage might possibly be even less.

I suspect that a similar poll conducted by the NRA would yield similar results. What purpose is served by OC?

I love playing logic games with people... Ones that oppose open carry, or carry in general. It usually gets to this point:
These are all typical responses.

"But you're fine with police officers carrying handguns?"
"Well yea"
"Why's that?"
"Because it's their job, they need them."
"Right, but what makes you confident in their ability to carry them safely?"
"Well, they have training, and background checks and stuff"
"So, If I had the same training, and background checks as a police officer, you'd be fine with me carrying then? Because I have, and I actually train more than most officers. Heck, I have security clearances that require checks way above and beyond what most officers get."

That's usually where their brain short circuits, as they know you've beaten them with logic, but still want to find a way to say no "rlol"

I am not opposed to open carry, but I would not carry openly. I think the more freedom the better. I also would worry less about printing.

I do not see harm OC while hunting or in the wild, even though I have no issue with OC anywhere else too with a permit where felons are denied and vetted out. Now, OC can lead to, sir, Can I see your permit, which I assume it should be fine with any OCer.

The MONSTER of all Anti's could only muster up 52% against OC?!?
And with a margin of error of 4% in a 600 person sample, this poll is statistically dead even at 48-48%. Therefore, they have to ignore the margin of error to make it a "majority of Americans" that oppose OC.

"Lies, damn lies and statistics" and all that.
