The above video link is 2:01 long.
It took place in "Caldwell", but it doesn't say which state. Idaho? NJ?
It doesn't look like NJ, though.
Two LEO's in separate vehicles are chasing a robbery suspect.
All 3 vehicles go off road, with the LEO's kind of doing a pincer
movement on the BG.
When the BG wrecks out and is immobilized, off road, he points
his pistol at the officer, fires 1 round, but then goofs up and hits
his mag release, dropping his mag.
While the BG is fumbling to get the mag re-inserted into his pistol,
the backup LEO fires at the BG from the vicinity of the BG's right rear
door. A total of 15 rounds were fired. Even if we allow that the BG shot
1 round, that means the LEO fired 14 rounds at close range. No mention
was made as to what the LEO's gun was.
The LEO who was hit survived. The BG, although he is moving after
being shot, died.
This video shows that when a LEO tries to pin a BG in close with
his cruiser, he runs the risk of being shot at close range.
IIRC, the LEO who shot the BG was the chief of this PD.
Kudos to the LEO's involved for a job well done.

Having seen something very similar happen too often in IDPA, I'll bet the BG chambered a round and then inserted a fullmag, and did not seat the mag well enough. When he fired the first round, the mag fully or partially ejected itself instead of feeding a new round.
Bye bye woof woof.
Bye bye woof woof.

Since the most popular LE handgun at this time is a Glock in 40 the chances are very high that the officer was using a Glock in 40. Does it really make any difference? He could have been carrying any number of firearms from the round count it can be presumed to not be a revolver or a 1911. (unless the COP in that town is Jerry Miculick.)surprise_i'm_armed wrote:
