Dear Barry:
It is my understanding that you are having trouble stopping millions of gallons of oil from crossing our borders. Have you asked Arizona to help yet?
Sincerely,
Registered Voter
P.S. Barry ...
Stick a cork in it.
When you're done sealin' it up ... Google "Country Boy Oil Spill Solution"
As far as stopping the flow, any plumber could tell you force jute in it to slow the pressure of the flow, then seal it.
Or
They can get a straw into it? After stuffing in a softer fabric-type plug to slow the flow/reduce pressure, don’t they know the diameter of the pipe itself so they can fit a plug in it, then concrete over it?
Call a plumber ... they know how to stop flow from a pressurized pipe.
Stick a cork in it.
It works for pressurized Champaign bottles and white lightnin' jugs
The pressure causes the cork to expand and seal even tighter.

Hey, you racist. That oil is just coming here to pollute the coastline that Americans won't.

Re: OPEN LETTER
NOT racist; I'd treat all black oil, brown oil any any other color oil equally ... even that red oil that's in my Tranny/Transmission even if it's from Arabia or any other Opeccer. It all needs the flow stopped and the mess cleaned up, no matter the color or origin. It's taking jobs from our local resort owners, employees and fishermen, no matter how little they get paid. I saw pictures on the News where it is litterally overcoming the local populations of local residents like the birds and fish who used to live there and call it home.bdickens wrote:

I am guessing that you are being facetious, if not, please accept my apologies.RPB wrote:Barry Soetoro

The biggest problem with this whole issue is the combination of depth and frigid temperatures. Fixes that might normally work either don't work or they are incredibly hard to actually implement.

Re: OPEN LETTER
Yeah, a bit facetious. I'm aware that what works on one scale, or one depth won't work on another scale or depth... but if they can stick a straw in it ...
I wonder if they are aware of what they are doing too.
Essentially they are going to try doing the same thing almost as stuffing jute in it, then sealing .....when/whenever they get around to it. BUT with a bunch of tiny particles instead of fabric/jute.
But a jute rope, or large porous piece of fabric, being one piece stuffed in, (with something like the straw they have stuffed in it?) would work much better than a bunch of tiny particles that will make a neat "Lava Lamp" .... just sayin'.
Instead of jute/fabric, they'll try using golf balls and shredded tires (They were ORIGINALLY going to use garbage, but probably figured garbage blowing out all over the gulf with the oil would be bad publicity.)
If they are having trouble finding fabric cheap, CheaperThanDirt has some parachutes they can fill with cotton or something to make corks ... 24' Diameter Rescue Parachute Solid Panels and Steering Vents, White in Grade I Condition Our Low Price: $29.95 http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MIL1602- ... erTimeSale" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (I'm sure some circus has used tents if those are too small)
I can see tire disposal, but I'm just wondering why golf balls instead of jute/fabric? (Relative owns a golf ball factory and sales are down?) They can fill the parachutes with golf balls and shredded tores and still help their golfball manufacturing buddy.
As far as the separate issue of cleanup...
"Let us throw some more Dawn Dishwasing soap on it so the oil goes down the drain instead of stickin' to the dishes, I mean fishes .... wait .... where's the drain?"
I spilled a bag of flour on the floor once, so I blew my hair dryer on it to disperse it so it would be easier to clean up .... think about it. It's easier to clean up if they increased the viscosity and scoop it up as one large sheet of tar, then we could resurface our roads with it ... or use a solution like the "Country boy's solution" with hay...
Yeah, a bit facetious.... just venting a bit; I have lots of freinds trying to fish out of kayaks, and my Personal Best Tournament-winning Redfish was caught not far from there.

Wish I could claim credit for it, I heard that word from some stand-up comedian doing a routine about OPEC setting oil prices..redlin67 wrote:Great word, should be added to the dictionary.RPB wrote:NOT racist; I'd treat all black oil, brown oil any any other color oil equally ... even that red oil that's in my Tranny/Transmission even if it's from Arabia or any other Opeccer. Maybe they should have thought about what to do and how to do it ahead of time.

Re: OPEN LETTER
Yeah, and we spend millions of dollars a year trying to avoid anything even remotely like this...especially any casualties or fatalities. It isn't just about the environment that we try to protect, it is our people also.bdickens wrote:Maybe they should have thought about what to do and how to do it ahead of time.
We just held the memorial for the 11 people that our company and MI Swaco lost on the rig minutes ago.
Sorry if I am a little touchy on the subject.

Re: OPEN LETTER
On the flip side ... Barry is sending "up to" 1,200 National Guard troops to the borders, dunno if they get ammo and equipment or not though or if they are all supposed to join hands and say Red Rover Red Rover ....
